Wedding Stress? Keep Calm and Carry On

22 June 2013 By In Counselling Advice

Your wedding is approaching and you feel really stressed out. You keep bursting into tears and snapping at those around. Stop right now and take stock of what you have achieved. Reflect on each day and remember the positive things that have taken place during your day – in fact each and every day. We often remember the bad things that happen to us and focus on them but how many times do you remember the good things that happen and talk about them.

Go for a walk with your fiancée and enjoy your environment and precious time together. Never miss an opportunity to say 'thank you' and something nice to each other and to those around you.

Keep your check lists up to date and value seconds, minutes and hours as this a unique time of your life and one to be cherished. Ask for help if you really find you are unable to cope with all you have to do and most of all try not to panic!

Do not let stress be an uninvited guest on your special day. Here are just a few tips to help reduce your wedding stress and anxiety:

  • Happiness is a choice so keep your positive mindset and attitude to hand so that you can tap into it easily.
  • Have regular 'smile moments'. The times when you think of special times that you share.
  • Be able to laugh at yourself – sometimes even for the silly things that you do or forget to do!
  • Tell your fiancée you love them...TODAY!

If wedding stress and anxiety are becoming too much for you to cope with and you feel you need help managing them or just someone to talk to then please do call us for a FREE, informal 15 minute consultation. It helps to talk. Call: 020 8954 1593 or email us at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
